A Space for Reflection & Connection.

This is the personal website of Alexander Barta — a place for research, writing, and reflection on political economy, money and power.

The aim here is to show that what many regard as self-evident and common sense is merely one of many possible perspectives on reality. The focus is precisely on such processes of misperception. They often operate quietly, almost unnoticed, yet have a profound impact on our lives. They shape our everyday encounters, our language and our decisions – and help to stabilise existing power structures. Be they manifested in social practices, institutional processes, or public and private discourses.

By questioning initial common sense intuitions, this also widens our scope for action: when we question our own point of view in order to broaden our perspective, we regain greater control over our own thoughts and actions.

For the credo is clear: to revive our capacity for action and self-efficacy. And to give a voice to issues that all too often remain invisible.
